Famous Amos!

B-103: WBZO/Bay Shore!

Super Oldies Saturday Night!
On Saturday nights (including February 10, 2001), B-103 presented Super Oldies Saturday Night, an all-request and dedications "party"-type show. Nonetheless, I doubt that they knew exactly how far the "party" would go!

My thanks to Bob Perry and Anita Bonita for adding to the madness and saving my butt throughout the night; Richard & the Young Lions for improving the playlist; and Scotty Hart for not strangling me, 10 minutes in, and taking his show back.

This is a long recording -- so if you're tuning up your car, repainting the living room, or knitting a new sofa -- put this on in the background and go about your business, and no one will get hurt.

B-103 Afternoons!

After the previous aircheck, you'd have thought PD Rick Martini had learned his lesson ... but NOOOOOO. Instead of running me off Long Island, on Monday, February 27, 2001, he had me take over for him in afternoon drive. (Well, it couldn't hurt him any -- he was heading for Denver at the end of that week!)

So I promo'd the Prom, flogged the format, and danced dangerously with Eddie ENCO the Electronic Enigma, B-103's somewhat...uh...temperamental hard drive system. All I can say is thank God for Our Lady of the Highways and Byways Leslie Franklin, who gave as good as she got -- and then some.
